ABOUT US

A one-day workshop, run by the BBC’s ‘Capture Wales’ team, in the spring of 2006 was all it took to get me hooked on digital storytelling. I went on to train as a facilitator with the Breaking Barriers project in Caerphilly and teamed up with Tyron to run our first joint digital storytelling project in Clase later that year.
I am a qualified and experienced teacher, and a writer. I taught English and Drama in a secondary school in Bristol, for as long as I could stand it, then moved to West Wales where I co-directed a youth theatre in my spare time, and have since gone on to teach poetry and creative writing to adults, in Aberystwyth and Swansea.
In 2005, I completed an MA in Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University, having written poetry most of my life. I have performed my work live, at public readings, and recorded a selection of poems on CD (copies available via umbrellahead.co.uk) A number of my poems have won prizes in competitions ,while others have been published in newspapers and magazines.

After completing training with Breaking Barriers in 2005 I worked on the first digital storytelling project in Swansea on the Caemawr estate during 2006. The project faced many challenges but was a great success, we produced 9 stories (which can be viewed here) and secured further funding. At present I am 1 of the 3 digital inclusions development workers on the phase 2 project, Community Online. We now offer all aspects of the 'digital life', from digital storytelling right the way through to web development with local groups.
